[List of American prisoners captured by the British], 1776-1781.

List of American prisoners captured by the British, 1776-1781, mostly in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, including many from Fort Washington and Germantown. The list records the date of exchange, method of return, time and place of capture, rank, date of commission, unit, and the names of officers who absented themselves from Long Island contrary to their parole. Also recorded is an agreed upon tariff of exchange of prisoners and cartel for exchange of prisoners. Volume is repeatedly inscribed with the signature of former owner Ebenezer Mott, quartermaster in the Continental Army, who was probably responsible for recording the contents.
